What an insightful read! For a while I have been noticing that “small thinkers” have been the ones with the biggest megaphones I call it. Doesn’t help that where they happen to spew most of their hate and mentally harmful “content” are places that will prop up their content because it creates engagement and addiction amongst the masses. The more I read from people on here the more I am encouraged that there are those of us out there that are trying to actively fight against this back slide and mental deterioration. It is an up hill battle, and I certainly don’t see some significant change in the near future. But the more people realize these things at the grassroots level, the easier it can be to hopefully create some change.
"If you have a decent-sized audience on a platform and you know you’re doing well there, use your influence to help others rather than actively try to hinder their progress. Offer advice. Share their content. Choose to be kind when cruelty is the easier option"
So encouraging, you feel uplifted when you find kindly from unlikely places especially someone with bigger audience. It shows something that's interesting from me or maybe just they wanted to encourage me to go on.
Boy, I must be stupid, or maybe just slow to catch on ... I've got a writer who routinely quotes my writing and has for a few weeks. While I was feeling complimented, it hurts to hear it's probably a put down, not a shout out. OUCH My naivety is showing ...
Thank you for sharing and being so vulnerable here. I think fear drives so much of our behaviour and you being able to see that in others, but also recognise that in yourself by reflecting on your childhood experience is powerful. Here’s to writing despite it all. 🙌🏼

Great piece! So many of us can relate to your story!
Love the commentary about being small. I always say "I'm only small on the outside!"
Love that!
