Enjoy the mountains. I think I will step away from the computer and enjoy nature. It is azalea season here in Northeast Florida and nature is calling me. The beautiful blooms are bursting.
Thanks for the mention. A busy week in Substack land! I built my 4 week course this time last year and they rolled out like 6 changes including notes the next month 😆
I feel you. Same with Medium. You create a course and the next month the design of the dashboard changes.
Same for Substack. You need to add updates to your videos. However these new changes feel good. Not sure about the followers but everything else is nice.
Really? I also need to rethink my whole recording process.
I guess most of those subscribing to the Online Writing School know that it's work in progress. however there are some who want a whole course , all updates etc. I can't handle this. Only baby steps.
Same when you create on Udemy or promise something on Pattern 😂 people are used to get it ALL.
Thank you i enjoyed the piece by Julian Simpson. Slowly it seems we are catching on to the slow pace as opposed to continuing /exacerbating the hamster wheel which most of us seem to have in our lives. I worked an 8 hr shift this morning (overtime) and report 1 was done and it linked to report 2. And i thought, bugger this I am tired i have put in my extra unpaid shift maybe tomorrow i'll feel inspired to do a few more hours on report 2, but today i am done, i am heading off to do some creative art that i put off last week for other people's work and deadlines. And i started listening to substack, your article and a link or two, and it was just right. Slow work quality work as opposed to the rushed hamster wheel. Needed that reminding. Regds
Enjoy those mountains! I did wonder about the new Substack look - I don't mind it but I was surprised. Still, when I come to think of it, that's usually how I approach life these days - I don't mind it but I'm definitely surprised!! :-)
I just found your Substack and I'm enjoying the content! I've always been a writer, but I got distracted surviving for a good decade or so after college. After years of doing everything else, I'm desperate to figure out how to write for a living now.

Sounds very pleasant indeed Chris!

Happy Saturday 🌞
I’ve just ditched it tbh it’s not worth my time I give it away for free to my founding members. ✨❤️

Yeah… it’s interesting isn’t it… like there are certain priorities and videos I end up sending/ flagging/ sharing a lot so there’s something in that…
This one was stellar! Really liked the piece by Alex Mathers.
It’s a good one, right?

Agreed Lesley! It’s always good to get off the hamster wheel sometimes.

Thanks Anne - it was a very wet day indeed!
