LOVE this challenge. As the author of two books with a third on the way I'll tell you: The best thing you can do is set a daily writing goal for one month. At somewhere around the two-week mark you'll start to develop the LOVE of writing every day.
How do you make sure you'll finish with this writing challenge? Stop writing for the day just before you'd like to. Meaning: You have one more sentence or one more paragraph in you—but you don't write it. Instead, you leave that sentence or paragraph for tomorrow.
That way you return to the project the next day with a sense of what you want to write about.
Paul, this is some great insight. Also, solid advice with ending the writing for the day just before you'd like to...almost like a cliffhanger moment, to jump back in to the next day.
I love this challenge! Thank you for the inspiration to be consistently writing with a goal. I did the last challenge and it helped me immensely. I felt like I accomplished something for me that was measurable. Let's go!
Have you got an advice on how to enjoy so many wonderful writers on Substack and still get writing time? 😄 I just subscribed to your newsletter but I am already overwhelmed by the amount of emails I receive.
I need something to keep me accountable for my own personal goals, so thank you for starting this. I want to write a novel, but the hardest part seems to be getting started.
This is great! I have been saying that in March, I will be writing more and truly setting time aside to commit to a daily writing habit. This was my sign/accountability that I have been seeking.

I wish you all luck as you write!

Exactly, Marco. It's a cliffhanger and, above all, provides you momentum for the next day's writing.
Thank you for this spark of creative inspo

Ugh, this is exactly what I needed to see today!
My brain is exploding with all the ideas I have for my newsletter and book promo but I've been paralyzed for months.
I'm going to join. Fingers crossed it's the kick in the butt I need to get back to business.

Challenge accepted.
Thanks David 🙏
Forgot yesterday was the first!
