Congratulations on the new name. Change is good. “Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.” Write on through (to the other side.)

Thanks - the second was my suggestion for a column name with the word “write” in it.

Any reference to The Doors is OK in my book.

David, this is a vastly better name. I don't like change either, but this is miles better.

To elaborate briefly:

I saw your note with the cute dog photo. I love dogs. Then I saw the title of your publication and thought:

"Hey, this guy may have some good ideas about how to grow faster."

Now I read an article and clicked the button to subscribe because I like the topic. With the old name, I would've just enjoyed the dog photo and kept scrolling. This new title emphasizes the knowledge you plan to share. The other one just told me some person was writing, which I already knew because I'm on Substack.

Good job with the name change.

I like it. I'm not trying to write for a living, but I do a ton of writing, and I would love to have readers. The stories are there, and yes, ultimately, as I like to say, I'm writing them because I want to know what happens, too. But that doesn't change the fact that I want others to have that same desire. I may have an idea for a story, some characters in mind, a smidge of a plot, an idea how it ends, but the writing is the adventure I'm on because I'm never quite sure where the story and characters are going to take me. I would love for others to feel the same about my writing. So, we'll see. In the meantime, I'll read more about what others write about and try to get better along the way.

I like your change. I’ve been a ghostwriter for hire for the last dozen years. It keeps food on the table, and, in past times, even the roof over my head. Your straightforward title drew me immediately because I always want to do it better, so engaging with people in the know about how to write for a living are top on my list of daily reads. Thanks for being here!
