I used to be a lurker on Twitter.

You know what I mean, right?

I had a Twitter account that I logged into every day but never posted on. I just logged in and… lurked.

In fairness, at the time I didn’t have much to say, or any real reason to actively build a following. I was just there for the doom-scroll, Liverpool FC’s latest transfer updates, and to stay up-to-date with whatever bizarre decisions certain political leaders had made that week.

Twitter was just a source of entertainment.

Then, I wrote a book. Two books, actually. And suddenly, I realised I needed to build a platform for selling them (one day).

You’ve heard it said before: if you don’t have an audience, you can’t do anything — if you DO have any audience, you can do anything.

If I wanted to sell my books when they were eventually published, I needed an audience.

That’s how it started, anyway.
