Great chat. The self-pub journey hit home, especially the "Publish and vanish" approach I'm guessing my co-author is going to adopt. Ugh...Three years of work out the window!

Thanks Jack! Promoting your book is a non-negotiable. A book without marketing is a journal. Let's get your co-author on board ;)

He's of the Magic Pill sort, unfortunately. Once on Amazon, he thinks, the $$$ will start rolling in...

This was insightful, thanks for sharing! How does one find and/or reach out to publications on Medium that might match their writing? I have found it difficult to search for these.

Thanks Jordan!

Tbh, Medium is not transparent when it comes to information, pubs, etc.

I wrote this article about the top 10 publications in 2023:

Hope it helps!

Thanks Veronica! Very much helped, thank you!!

Can I ask how you came across them...did you search for them direct on Medium, or Google?

Hi Jordan,

I'm happy to hear you found it useful. I was actually introduced to them by a book distributor that currently distributes my previous books in Hong kong (where I'm based). I have done a lot of research for publishers in the past and I suggest Google because there are so many of them and you want to narrow your search based on your criteria.

Also the large publishing houses don't usually take unsolicited manuscripts and work through a literary agent.

Good luck!
